IIWDTC’s bus driver training and assessment, focuses on the skills, knowledge and attitudes required for the: systematic, safe and efficient control of all vehicle functions monitoring of traffic and road conditions management of vehicle condition performance and effective management of hazardous situations. appropriate bio-mechanics for driving via correct seating position, steering wheel grip and control, and feet position identification of road safety issues from, causes of crashes, results of excessive speed, and driving for variable road and environmental conditions personal attitudes towards driving fatigue management road rules
The ultimate aim is to improve driver safety. The training course is tailored to suit the participants and the type of vehicles that they drive. Training and assessment will include the theories and concepts presented using discussion techniques and case studies.
Assessment will assess the driver’s ability to demonstratethe following knowledge and skills: follow correct vehicle handling procedures monitor traffic and road conditions carry out pre-operational checks monitor and maintain vehicle performance follow OHS and environmental protection procedures and regulations follow emergency procedures when required
