IWDTC offers training and/or assessment for drivers in the transport industry.
Entry requirements:
- applicants must have a licence in relevant category
- applicants must produce photo identification
- applicants must be able to read, write and understand English so that they can understand the Regulations and carry out work instructions

Certificate I Units (TLI10207) - Total of 7 units
Successful completion of assessment tasks for the Certificate I in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport) - will require competency in units that relate to work defined as Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 1. The seven units listed below meet with packaging requirements and combine to offer a course which best suits the profile of AQF - Level 1.

Certificate II Units (TLI20207) - Total of 14 units
- Carry out vehicle inspection
- Process workplace documentation
- Apply fatigue management strategies
- Apply accident/emergency procedures
- Interpret road maps and navigate pre-determined routes
- Address customer needs
- Apply quality procedures
Certificate III Units (TLI30207) - Total of 21 units
The Certificate II in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport) is a pre-requisite to this qualification. The Certificate II can be undertaken in combination with Certificate III for youth and existing workers. New workers can articulate onto the Certificate on completion of Certificate II. A total of 21 units of competency are covered or 7 for articulating trainees.
In order to successfully complete the Certificate III in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport) trainees must achieve a successful assessment outcome for a total of 21 units comprising:
a) at least 5 units and up to 7 units aligned at AQF 3 made up of:
- at least 3 units and up to 7 units from those listed below (aligned at AQF 3), and;
- up to 2 suitable units (aligned at AQF 3) drawn with appropriate contextualisation from either other Transport and Logistics Certificate II qualifications, or other relevant endorsed Training Packages.
and;
b) at least 7 units and up to 9 units at AQF 2 made up of:
- at least 5 units and up to 9 units form those listed for the Certificate II in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport) (aligned at AQF), and;
- up to 2 suitable units (aligned at AQF 2) drawn with appropriate contextualisation from either other Transport and Logistics Certificate II qualifications, or other relevant endorsed training packages.
and;
c) 7 units aligned at AQF 1 made up of:
- at least 5 units and up to 7 units from those listed for the Certificate I in Transport and Distribution (Road Transport) (aligned at AQF 1), and;
- up to 2 suitable units (aligned at AQF 1) drawn with appropriate contextualisation from either other Transport and Distribution Certificate I qualifications, or other relevant endorsed Training Packages.
